Alleluia and Easter Joy
We have been singing alleluia lately (yes, even during Lent) so Louis would be ready for Easter morning, and he was ready! He sang beautifully at church and said Amen in all the right places. He wore a sailor suit his cousin Gregory wore at the same age (hurrah for hand-me-downs) and I was surprised to find that it just barely fit him, when I had thought it would be hanging off of him. Louis is growing so quickly!
Here are a few photos from our long weekend. John had Thursday and Friday off and I had Friday and Monday, so Louis has had five days of springtime/Easter fun.
Louis was interested in the process, but I think he'll enjoy it even more when he gets to do the dipping himself. Maybe next year!
And he organized the eggs afterward. He is very big on organization and putting things into containers (and then taking them out again).
Louis discovers his Easter basket on Easter morning.
The wind-up chick was a hit, as were the matchbox cars and his "B" train car.
Louis looking pensive in his sailor suit (accompanied by the bear he brought to church). Louis gives all of his stuffed animals attention at different times; Elmo came with us to Ash Wednesday Mass and the bear came to Easter Sunday.
Here Louis is visiting the statue of Jesus with the children outside the church.
We had a very low-scale Easter egg hunt in our front yard. It was just enough for this year. Next year we may have to take it up a notch--maybe even put things inside the eggs! The novelty of everything went pretty far this year and we didn't want Louis to be overwhelmed.
Filling the bucket
Playing with trains at Grandmom and Poppy's house
Playing with a train and Aunt Mary
Taking a walk before dinner
Playing with his cousin Molly after dinner--or after Louis decided dinner was over, to be a little more accurate ;)
The video is from a dinner at Uncle Billy and Aunt Marilee's house on Wednesday. Molly and a friend were playing music and Louis started dancing.
