Waiting for Approval to Travel

We are so fortunate to have the best agencies and the kindest people helping us bring Louis home. Last night I called our agency to ask for an updated estimate on when we might travel. As I had suspected, we would only be traveling at the end of October if our TA had arrived this week, which it didn't. But the man at the agency said that it is "imminent" and that it could come any day. Unfortunately, the national holiday in China means that it probably won't arrive until the end of next week or early the week of the 12th.

Everything is a guess--like trying to estimate when and where a tornado is going to touch down--but our agency friend said he thinks we will travel in mid- to late November--and not in December.

As anxious as we are to bring Louis home, we are trying to see this as a gift: a chance for John to get a few more work projects accomplished, a chance for me to get more finished at work before my leave with Louis, and maybe even a chance for us to sneak away for an overnight somewhere (though I don't really expect that to happen). One bonus could be that we will spend Thanksgiving in China--do they have whole berry or jellied cranberry sauce? ;)--and another, much more wonderful one, is that we might be in the U.S. when our newest niece and nephew are born!

We have so much to look forward to, and we are very impatient, but at least we are closer and closer to bringing our son home all the time!
