Surprise Shower

My colleagues astonished me this afternoon with a shower in the conference room! We had a conference call scheduled for 3:30 (so I thought), and I went to get the key to the conference room, unlocked the door, and stood there staring at a cake and gifts sitting on the table. It took me a few minutes to realize it was a shower for me. I had been so focused on preparing for the conference call!

I am so grateful to the terrific group of people I work with for designing a beautifully creative cake (with John, Louis, and me flying quietly and comfortably back from China) and for their thoughtful gifts. They even gave Louis a 100 wishes quilt, a lovely Chinese tradition. And we now have more fun toys for the bathtub and an Aquadoodle for the trip.

The perfectly wonderful card our talented art director designed for me is at the left, but I don't know why the cookie looks blue instead of fortune-cookie-colored.

It's such fun to work with a creative and generous team. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful friends and family!
