Still waiting for Travel Approval
We were hoping our Travel Approval would arrive early this week, but the latest word is that the office in China mailed some Travel Approvals at the beginning of this week and that they will arrive at the end of the week--but we have no way of knowing whether ours is in that batch. If not, we will wait for the next one. But I think the Nov. 20 travel date is less likely and we may be looking at the beginning of December instead.
This has been the most difficult part of the wait for us, knowing our son is in China, about to celebrate his birthday next week, and we are here in our quiet house, missing and loving a child we have never met.
Today marks 10 months since we received the phone call with our referral. I will never forget that astonishing call, waiting for 20 minutes (or was it years?) for the PDF of his information to open, and the way we fell in love with the photos of our little boy! As I write this, Louis is 13 hours ahead of us. I imagine he is wide awake and playing as his father and I are getting ready to drop into our beds for the night. Whatever he is doing, we hope he is happy and healthy and loved by those with him, as well as by those on this side of the world.
