Super Snow Sunday
Yesterday Louis didn't get very close to the snow, which is at least 2 1/2 feet deep. He looked at it from our doorway and watched from the window as his father started digging. He laughed and laughed when Baba threw snowballs at the windows. By the time it stopped snowing yesterday, it was too cold to think about bundling Louis up to go out and try to play in snow that is as nearly as deep as he is tall.
This morning, however, we dressed Louis in several layers and took him outside. He wasn't sure what to think, and he was rather clingy (there is quite a bit of snow out there) until John set him on top of a snowdrift and started sliding him down. Louis lit up and asked for it "again"--one of his newer words, and the only challenge was getting him back inside so he didn't get frostbite and John could actually try to dig out the cars--a multiday chore.
We have had such fun being snowed in with Louis. Normally we might be feeling a little stir crazy by now, but having a 2-year-old boy who is interested in everything makes everything different. We brought out a play kitchen we have been keeping in reserve and we spent a lot of time doing puzzles. We have also been reading a lot. Louis is starting to say more words with us as we read, and he loves to say "Amen" at the end of our prayers. He is a talker, and we are looking forward to being able to understand everything he says!
We won't be watching the Super Bowl today, but I used the game as an excuse to put Louis in his Ravens sweatshirt, inherited from his cousin Andrew, who is not a Ravens fan (despite our best efforts).
Meanwhile, we are waiting to see when our road will be plowed and wondering whether John will be going to work tomorrow. You won't hear any complaints from Louis (or Mama) if Baba is home for another day!

Love reading your blog and watching the videos! What a great way for us to get to know this happy little boy. I wish someone would have pulled me around in a laundry basket this weekend!
