Leftovers...a year later

They're nothing extraordinary.

And I really don't know how it happened.

But for some reason four photos we took on our China trip to Michael never made it from my camera to my computer.

Last week when the new computer refused to upload my ordinary, everyday photos from the memory card, I dug out the cord and plugged it into the USB port. Then I opened a folder I had never seen. And there they were.

I have looked at the photos from our trip so, so many times. But seeing four I hadn't seen before--at least not since I had taken them--gave me such a thrill.

And I love that we happened to discover them almost exactly a year after we returned home with Michael in our arms.

They are proof that our boy did sleep in his crib in the hotel room while we were in China.

They remind us how he adored his stacking cups during those first days. He even took them to bed.

And John and I were both startled to see he let us put a blanket over him. He is opposed to having anything in the crib with him now.

Aren't sleeping babies so, so sweet?

He captured our hearts--and John's hat--so quickly.

They're not the best photos from our trip, of course. But John and I really enjoyed this extra glimpse into that very special time with our little boy.
