We are here!
A Chinese Coca-Cola can
After a seemingly endless day, we have arrived in Guangzhou, where we will meet Michael on Monday. We're exhausted, jet-lagged, inexplicably organizing the room when we should be sleeping, and we are relieved not to be on some form of transportation. It feels great to be back in China--though we're missing Louis so much. So many things we have seen today have reminded us of him and our time with him here in December 2009. A little boy who was a little older than Louis was singing what sounded like "Jingle Bells" in Chinese on our Beijing-Guangzhou flight this afternoon/evening/morning/whatever time of day it is.
The plane we flew from Beijing to Guangzhou (and it was a terrific flight, as flights go)
We learned this evening that Michael's city is the home of kung fu! But in more exciting news, we also learned that we will meet him Monday afternoon! We can't wait. Tomorrow will be an odd day where we are missing our two sons, one who is 7,000 miles away having a blast with some of his cousins, grandparents, aunts, and an uncle, and one who is about 20 miles away.
I'll try to post again tomorrow--either myself or via my sister Treasa, who is posting for me from the U.S. today--and did the same for us almost two years ago. Thank you, Treasa!
A view inside the Beijing airport, which is a really fantastic building (though it gets hot with the sun streaming through those windows)
An electric vehicle charging inside the Beijing airport--but what I like about it are the Chinese signs.
So glad you guys made it! And, wow, that Coke can brings back lots of memories. :) Can't wait to see Michael in your arms.
