TA! TA! Michael, we're on our way!
We spent last week at the beach, enjoying wonderful cousin time. For some reason, I had decided we were going to get an update on Michael last week--and I thought it would be especially great to get it on my birthday. It never came--and it may never come, at this point--because Friday night, when I casually checked my email after walking back from the boardwalk with John and Louis, I discovered that we had our Travel Approval!
Anyone who followed our journey to Louis knows it took about three years or so, give or take a year, for our TA to arrive. It was an endless wait. This time our agency had estimated it would take three weeks after our Article 5 was issued, but we got ours in ONE WEEK! Someone really wants this little guy home with us.
All of a sudden there are not enough hours in the day to get ourselves ready for this trip (we're thinking we'll leave in a few weeks) and to prepare Louis for his two weeks of fun here at home. But somehow it will all come together and thank goodness Michael's room is basically ready--a post I have been meaning to do after I finish sewing his curtains. Hmm. Maybe that will happen before Christmas. Christmas 2012, that is.
Anyway, we celebrated here last night the best way we know how:
Somehow I have a feeling we'll be ordering in a few times after Michael is home! We can't wait to meet our little boy!
So happy for you! Congrats on TA. Yeah, you'll have some sibling rivalry to deal with, but it's so, so worth it. :o)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! We are so excited for you! Whenever you are ready to see people again or make a trip, we'll look forward to meeting Micheal!
