If you asked Louis...
If you asked Louis to describe the past few days, I wonder what he would say.
He'd surely want to take you outside to show you the robin's nest under our deck. He asks again and again to go out to see "baby," the four baby robins living there.

He would probably tell you that we read a lot of books. Train books are still popular, but he is particularly into Dr. Seuss and lately asks again and again for Llama, Llama, Red Pajama. He doesn't say the full title; he just says "Mama," but that's good enough for me.

Louis would also tell you we sing a lot, especially "Happy Birthday to You." Earlier in the week we sang it when we celebrated Aunt Treasa's birthday. Then Louis helped her unwrap her gifts and even tried one on--leaving the $3.24 pricetag up front, of course.
I'm sure the hat looks just as nice on Aunt Treasa, though I have to admit I didn't actually notice whether she tried it on.
Louis might remember to tell you that he made a new friend at a party we went to Saturday afternoon. How lucky that the one other child there was only two months younger than our little guy--and he happily shared his toys with Louis. They raced up and down the backyard together and Louis laughed and laughed.
Louis might also tell you that he didn't really need a nap today, though his parents would disagree.
Still, he can be pretty persuasive, and he didn't show the signs of exhaustion you'd think he would after an active, social weekend with a graduation party and a First Communion party.

I told him again and again that he needed his rest. But after two and a half hours of his non-sleep campaign, I gave in.
Think I'm weak? Maybe so.
But before you judge, look at what I'm up against.
